Solo & Contact Improvisation Tyrol Festival 2025
Welcome to the 7th Edition of Solo & CI Tyrol Festival!
We are thrilled to invite you to join us from August 6th to 14th, 2025, in the breathtaking city of Innsbruck, Austria, for a week celebrating the roots and possibilities of Contact Improvisation. This year, we embrace the theme “The Very Beginning,” taking us back to the early days of CI in the 1970s, when Steve Paxton and his pioneering circle first explored this groundbreaking form.
In an extraordinary addition to our program, we are honored to welcome Daniel Lepkoff as our headliner—one of the original artists who danced alongside Paxton and a lifelong, legendary figure in the dance world. His presence is a gift to our community, offering a rare opportunity to connect with CI’s and release technique in solo dance living history through one of its foundational voices. To honor Daniel’s visit and his invaluable contributions, we’ve extended the festival to 8 full dancing days, making space for deeper exploration, unique workshops, and enriching discussions.
